Secondary School - School Day Time Consultation

Update: Please follow linked letter below which outlines the agreed changes to school session times that will take effect from September 2011.

Some of our secondary schools are in the process of changing their school day times.
This means that there will be different start and end days for each school. This has
been prompted by changes to post 16 education and training arrangements from
September 2011.

The Council will be holding consultation meetings at the Civic Centre on:

Tuesday 5th & Wednesday 6th April 2011 at 5.30pm

If you have any questions about school day start and end times you are
invited to attend the meeting that relates to your school. The table below which shows
which meeting you should attend.

Formed over a year ago, the South East Wales ESDGCForum was established to address the growing area of Education for Sustainable Development and Global Citizenship (ESDGC).

This ICT modelling resourceis designed to be used by KS2 children. Made by Newport teachers and the LEA, it is aimed at developing ICT modelling skills through the ESDGC theme.

NGfL Cymru provides both online teaching and learning materials and a network of links to selected websites which offer high quality content and information relevant to your needs.

Romans TV is a KS2 resource for pupils studying life in Roman Wales. Purposely the film has been written from a very Roman perspective to encourage pupils to debate important issues.

Children of the Revolution allows children to explore life in early industrial Wales using video, virtual reality, modelling exercises and interactive mapping.

The Caerleon Challenge shows what life was like at the Roman Fortress Baths at Caerleon with activities, virtual tours and videos.
