TRIPS AND VISITS 2010-11
During the course of the year at Lliswerry there is a large number of educational trips and visits which play such an important role in widening pupils' experinces and interests. These include:

Year 7 trip to Llangrannog, West Wales 4 - 6 February 2011
The trip is aimed at promoting a positive image of Wales and Welsh culture. Llangrannog camp is situated on the Northern coastline of West Wales between Cardigan and Newquay. The camp is run by specialised staff who supervise all activities, and they are proud of their arrangements for safety and care of children.
The activities include:
- Ski-ing
- Swimming
- Horse Riding
- Canoeing
- Toboganning
- Roller Blading
- Quads
The cost of the trip includes all activities, meals and accommodation.

The purpose of the visit is to offer the students a range of experiences which will promote their personal and social development and which they can relate to in their studies in various subject lessons.
The programme for this trip included visits to:
- Natural History Museum
- Guided tour of Wembly Stadium
- London Dungeons
- Madame Tussards
- Meal at Rainforst Cafe
- British Airways London Eye
- Two theatre visits to see popular shows (shows to be confirmed)
The party have bed and breakfast in a three star hotel in Central London. Pupils share rooms, with two or three students in each room. All rooms have 'en-suite' facilities.
Breafast is served in the hotel restaurant. Evening meals are taken in a local restaurant. Lunch is provided each day, except on the day of travelling to London, where children bring a packed lunch. The cost of the trip includes all admission charges, theatre tickets, all meals and accommodation.
Year 9 trip to Glanllyn, North Wales 4 - 6 March 2011
Glanllyn Camp is situated on the banks of Bala Lake in North Wales between Bala and Dolgellau. The camp is run by specialised staff who supervise all activities, and they are proud of their arrangements for safety and care of children.
The activities include:
- Canoeing
- Swimming
- Raft Building
- Various Climbing Activities
- Ten Pin Bowling

Year 7 trip to London 17 - 19 February 2011Years 8 & 9 trip to France 31 March - 3 April 2011
The French and History Departments organise the four day educational visit to Normandy and Paris in France. The visit is designed to give insight and experience of French culture and customs, with plenty of opportunities to speak the language, as well as visits to historical interest sites.
The programme for this trip included visits to:
- Guided tour of Paris
- Visit to see the Bayeux Tapstry
- Day trip to Paris
- River cruise in Paris to see the famous sites of the City
- Visit to the Arc d'Triomphe
- Day visit to EuroDisney Theme Park

Year 7 Day trip to France 17 June 2011
This is a 24 hour visit to france. The trip includes visits to Boulogne and the Nausicaa Sea Life Centre and lunch at a French restaurant. The cost of the trip includes all admission charges, all meals and transport/passport costs.
