Student Services
At Gwent Music support Service we offer a wide range of services to enhance our student's learning and make sure that they make the best progress possible in their music studies. Our main aim is to provide excellent tuition and musical experiences for all.
Students who are receiving tuition through GMSS should register and logon to this website to get the full benefit of the resources available.
In addition to school-based group tuition services, our services to students include:
Individual Tuition Scheme
Individual tuition can be provided directly to students on request. Individual tuition is available on the full range of orchestral, rock, pop, jazz and world music instruments, and also in voice.
Preferred Instrument Purchase Scheme:
Throught this scheme, our students are able to purchase musical instruments at reduced cost and without having to pay VAT.
Examination entry service
Students can register for entry to external music examinations run by the main examination boards through our examination entry service
Examination accompaniment service
Being well prepared for your music examination is half the battle to achieving the best results. Our examination accompaniment service ensures that you have the services of an experienced accompanist to support you in your examination, with good time to rehearse beforehand.
Music Centre Activities
Six music centres offer students regular weekly opportunities to participate in a range of music making activities and ensembles, with concerts, trips and social events all thrown in - not to mention the tuck shop!
Ensemble Activities
There is a host of opportunities for students to perform in a wide variety of ensembles from beginner to advanced levels. Performing in an ensemble brings so many benefits to student development, both musically and in the broader skills such as perseverence, commitment, empathy and emotional intelligence. Playing in an ensemble is the place to make friends and to enjoy the many activities and events organised, from local concerts, to performing in major UK venues, or touring in o other parts ofthe world.
The GYM club 
The Gwent Young Musicians Club is where Gwent Young Musicians get fit! The Gym club is availalable only to students who receive tuition through the Gwent Music Support Service. If you have lessons with us, fill in the registration form to find out more and to get the support, help and resources you need to get the best out of your playing.
