Weekly Music Centre activities for the 'Buzzers & Blowers', Junior & Senior Wind Bands, Junior & Senior String Ensembles. If you play a brass, woodwind, percussion or string instrument, then come along whatever standard you are. There are activities for everyone!

The "Big Sing" Project in association with Youth Music 'Action Zones' will commence again on Saturday 19th September from 10.30am-12.30pm. If you are aged between 7 and 18 and you love to sing, then come along to join this fantastic choir! There will be lots of performing opportunities. We look forward to seeing you there!

The Blaenau Gwent Celtic Band will meet at Willowtown Primary School on Thursday afternoons from 4.30pm to 5.30pm.

Newport Bassaleg Music Centre (Acting Head of Centre: Simon Linton)

Bassaleg Comprehensive School;

10.00am-12.00pm

Weekly Music Centre activities for the Junior Wind Band, Intermediate Wind Band (Forge Site) and Senior Wind Band, Junior & Senior String Ensembles and the Guitar Ensemble(Griffin Site). There will also be a new group for beginners called the Foundation Group which will take place on the Forge Site. If you play a brass, woodwind, percussion or string instrument, then come along whatever standard you are. There will be activities for everyone.

The Early Years Creative Music Group will also meet weekly on the Forge Site from 9.30am-10.30am (Group 1) and 10.30am-11.30am (Group 2). If interested, please contact the office on 01633 414800.

Please note that this is a change of venue for the Early Years Group and the Guitar Ensemble.

When there are string sessions at Caerleon Music Centre (monthly) there will be no string ensemble rehearsals at Newport Bassaleg Music Centre

Please note that the NMC Big Band will not now meet on Saturdays and will be moving to a new day and time at Brynglas House. Once confirmed, this information will appear on the website.

Newport Caerleon Music Centre (Head of Centre: Peter James)

Caerleon Comprehensive School;

Monthly Music Centre activities for all string players, harpists and percussion players in the Caerleon/Newport area. Isca Linea Symphonia 9.30am-12.30pm and Senior Strings, Harps, Theory and Percussion 1.30pm-3.00pm

There is also a pre-orchestral Early Years Group from 10.00am to 10.45am.

If you play a string instrument, harp or percussion then please come along and enjoy the music making with over 180 young players on a monthly Saturday. We look forward to seeing you there.
