Year 7 v St Julian's - 26th Jan 10 - by Anna Harris

On Tue 26th January Caerleon netball team played St Julian's.  The team was Anna, Zoe, Nia, Kaitlyn, Eleanor, Emma, Charlotte and Eliza.  We were playing away and although they were year 8 we were still hoping to beat them.  We arrived and were ready to go.  Th first half went well with some good passing from Caerleon which resulted in a goal.  1-0 to Caerleon!  With some great defending from Emma, Charlotte and Eleanor and a good shot from Zoe we got another goal in.  2-0 to Caerleon!  Unfortunately, they managed to score a goal so it went to 2-1.  With good passing from Kaitlyn and Nia they got the ball down to Anna who scored.  3-1 to Caerleon!! Then came the end of the first half .  With a change, Eliza on, Eleanor off, we were ready to get back on.  When the whistle blew we quickly had the ball with Eliza defending well and it resulted in a goal from Zoe, 4-1.  As the game went on St Julian's scored another 2 and with some more good shots from Anna and Zoe, Caerleon scored another 3! As the whistle for full time blew we thought we'd played well, and we had.  The final score was 7-3 to Caerleon!!  We'd like to thank Mrs Chapman for coaching us and for driving the bus. 

Year 7 v Gwynllw - 7th Dec 09 - by Chloe Kidd

On Tue 7th Dec Caerleon netball team played Gwynllw netball team.  The team was Chloe, Charlotte, Hollie, Jess, Amy, Lilly, Darcey and Ella.  Chloe took the first centre pass.  We managed to get the ball down the court and a brilliant goal was scored by Jess.  The score was 1-0 to Caerleon.  It was Gwynllw centre, pass they kep their hopes up and scored a goal, the score was 1-1.  It was Chloe's centre pass and with help from our wings we got the ball to Charlotte and she scored a goal, 2-1 to Caerleon.  Gwynllw took the next centre pass and from some  good defending by Caerleon we got the ball to Charlotte and she scored again.  The game played on with some nice goals, and the whistle went with the final score 5-3 to Caerleon.  We thanked the umpire and would like to say thank you to Mrs Chapman and Miss Fletcher for training us.

Year 8 v Ebbw Vale - 1st Dec 09

On Tue 1st Dec Caerleon netball team played a match against Ebbw Vale.  The team was Emily, Niamh, Natalie, Ella, Holly, Amy, Alice, Anoushka, Charlotte and Ellie (c).  With some great passes from the whole team, by half time Caerleon's score was 7 goals.  Once we had a half time chat, Mrs Chapman gave us the aim to have the score 14 goals by the end of the match, that was sure to give us a push of determination.  With Natalie, Holly and Anoushka coming into the game we felt strong as a team.  With the game close to an end, Caerleon tried their hardest to make as many goals as possible.  The whistle went three minutes early as the light was fading.  The final score was 12-0to Caerleon.  Caerleon were delighted with this result and as a team they are confident as ever and can't wait for the next match on Thursday.

Year 7 v Lliswerry - 23 Nov 09 - by Anna Harris

On Mon 23rd Nov Caerleon netball team played Lliswerry netball team.  The team was Anna (c), Zoe, Amy, Kaitlyn, Alysia, Eleanor and Charlotte.  The first half wet well with some good passing fro Caerleon, but Lliswerry fought back and scored, 1-0.  We kept our heads high and with some good defending from Charlotte, Alysia and Eleanor we managed to get the ball down to Zoe who scored, 1-1.  We started to play better and with some good passes from Kaitlyn to Amy, Anna managed to get another goal, 2-1. The whistle blew for half time and after a quick drink and talk from Mrs Chapman we got back onside ready for the next half.  It didn't take long for us to get another goal and another with good shooting from Anna and Zoe, 4-1.  Lliswerry weren't giving up that easily and they fought back with a goal 4-2.  After 2 more goals to Caerleon, the whistle blew full time.  Caerleon won 6-2.  We thanked the Umpire and then watched the other team play.  Anna and Zoe were voted players of the match and lastly we would like to than Mrs Chapman for coaching us and for driving the bus.

Year 7 v Lliswerry - 23 Nov 09 - by Anna Harris

Netball Results - Caerleon v Caldicot - 20th October 

Year 9 v Caldicot - 19th Oct - by Sarah Jeffs

 On Monday 19th October, Yer 9 played a netball match at home, against Caldicot.  At half time we were winning by 0-2, Caldicot gained another goal making the final score 2-1 to Caerleon, giving Year 9 a win!!  Excellent effort, well payed girls.!!

Year 9 v Bassaleg - 14th Oct - by Sarah Jeffs

Year 9 played their 3rd match of the season away at Bassaleg.  At half time we were losing by 0-7, and the final score was 14-3 to Bassaleg, making it a loss for Caerleon.  Although we lost this game all he girls agreed that this was the best game we've ever lost! We met lots of new players who played really well.  Well played girls!

Year 7 v Bassaleg - 12th October - by Anna Harris

On Monday 12th October, Caerleon played Bassaleg School. The team was Zoe, Anna, Nia, Kaitlin, Emma, Eleanor and Charlotte.  We started the first half with some good passing but unfortunately Bassaleg scored.  That didn't knock our confidence though because within a matter of minutes we scored with a good shot from Zoe.  The whistle blew half time; the score was 1-1.  The second half was better with two more shots coming from Anna and Zoe, but Bassaleg did manage to score one.  For a third time the whistle blew and even though we were tired we were ready for the next half.  Bassaleg's team swapped but ours stayed the same.  We were ready to go and as the whistle blew Nia quickly got the ball and Zoe scored.  As the game went on, there was some good defending from Emma, Eleanor and Charlotte and we managed to score a few more with good shooting from Zoe and Anna.  As half time came to an end we wanted to know the score and it was 9-2 to Caerleon.  We gave it all we had in the last half and everyone played well.  With some good passing from Kaitlin and Nia we scored a couple more.  The game ended and the final score was 14-2 to Caerleon.  Zoe got player of the match for all of her amazing shots.  We thanked the umpire and gave three cheers to the other team.  Lastly we would like to thank Mrs Chapman for coaching us, supporting us and driving the mini bus!

Year 9 v St. Julians - 23rd Sept- by Sarah Jeffs

Year 9 played their second match of the season, away at St Julian's, on 23rd September.  At half time the score was 2-2.  The final score was 5-2 to St Julian's making it an unfortunate loss for Caerleon.  Good effort from everyone!  Well played girls! 

Year 7 v St. Julians - Results

6 Teams from Caerleon played St.Julians, with Caerleon winning three games, 9-2, 1-0 and 1-0, losing two games, 0-3 and 0-2 and drawing one 0-0. 

Year 8 v St. Julians - 22nd Sept - by Emily Jones, Team Manager

On Tues 22nd Sept Caerleon Netball teams played against St. Julians.  There were four Caerleon teams which all had 10 minutes of playing netball.  Some people in the teams were Holly Ross, Ella Hislop, Ellie Kalter, Laura Butterchy, Olivia Ashill and Jessie Blackburn.  The whistle blew and the final scores were 3-1 to Caerleon, 2-1 to Caerleon, 2-2 and 3-3.

Year 8 v Croesyceiliog - 15th Sept - by Emily Jones, Team Manager

On Tue 15th Sept, Caerleon Year 8 netball team went to Croesyceiliog High School for a netball match.  The team was Anoushka Khan (GK), Elise Rhodden (GD), Amy Green (WD), Ellie Kalter (C), Ella Hislop (WA), Niamh McCarthy (GA) and Emily Jones (GS).  In the first 10 minutes, the ball had raced from one side to the other with the first half ending in 0-0.  The second half began and Croesy scored 2 goals and Caerleon 1 by Emily.  Finally in the last 10 minutes Croesy had some good passes an scored a further 3 goals with the score 5-1 to them.  Caerleon didn't give up, and with only a few minutes left in the game, Caerleon scored a further 3 goals by Emily and Niamh.  The final score was 5-4 to Croesyceiliog with Elise as Player of the Match and Ellie as Captain

Year 9 v Croesyceiliog - 15th Sept - by Sarah Beard, Team Manager

Year 9 played their 1st match of the season on 15th Sept away at Croesyceiliog.  At half time both teams were drawing with a score of 3-3.  Unfortunately Croesyceiliog made it a win with a final score of 6-4.  The player of the match was Francesca Buchanan.  Excellent effort from all girls, well done!!
