Year 7/8 Disco - 14th December 2009

Year 12 Welsh Bacc students organised, ran and supervised a disco for Year 7 and 8 students.

A good evening was had by all. Thanks to all staff and students for organising.

Welsh Bacc Year 7 Fete - Friday 18th December 2009

Welsh Baccalaureate students organised this event for Year 7 on the last day of term. The fete is part of the team enterprise and community participation elements of the course. Each group was in charge of organizing and running a stall during the event. Stalls included: Chocolate Fountain, Whack a Rat, Lucky Dip, Ping Pong Jars, Where's Wally, Cake Stall, Nintendo Wii Challenge, Pillow Fight, Guess the Teacher and a raffle.

In total approximately £500 by raised. Proceeds from the fete will be donated to the following charities:

The Joshua Foundation, Cancer Research, St David's Foundation, International Glaucoma Assoc, Meningitis Trust, and the Noah's Ark Appeal

Sustainability Day

Speakeasy for schools is an outside agency that visited us for the day and conducted their "Earth" conference with our year 13 students. The conference focused on the problems of global warming and the lack of sustainability. The conference focused on the problems of global warming and the lack of sustainability. The students were placed in groups and focused on developing a community faced with these challenges.

A highly successful day was enjoyed by all and the eventual winners were team "Istalia" who will be entered into a prize draw with other winners from schools around the UK.
